I think the show was trying too hard to be like “Family Ties”, but the problem was Michael J. Fox had a charisma and comedic timing Kirk Cameron lacked. I like Steven and Elyse Keaton more than Jason and Maggie Seaver. Sure, Alex teased Mallory for being an indifferent student, but he genuinely cared about her. He was a bit overprotective at times. I also liked Andrew Keaton aka Andy the little brother on FT better than Chrissy Seaver!

Such a stupid show. Not even funny. Terrible to treat Tracy Gold so badly. She wasn’t even overweight!!!!

Not that it’s an apples to apples comparison, but I never understood the Tom Willis fat jokes on the Jeffersons. Maybe people were more fit 45 years ago, so Franklin Cover might have been on the fat side by late 70s standard.

Meanwhile, I think the weight gains in The Facts Of Life went mostly unmentioned – except for Mindy Cohn’s Natalie who was the original “fat one”. I wont repeat the not funny name people gave the series with the cast weight gains
