					<description><![CDATA[That might explain an odd detail in that final ending. One of the Misfit Toys is a bird who swims instead of flies (and isn&#039;t a penguin). In the ending we all know, Santa gives each of the Misfit Toys an umbrella that they use to safely float down to Earth after leaving his sleigh.

Except for the swimming bird, who Santa just releases in the air. WHOOPS! I guess he&#039;s dead.

But considering it had been a year since they&#039;d animated the rest of the special, it&#039;s probable that the animators and writers just forgot all about that detail.]]></description>
