Wild how network notes can sand the regional edges right off a sitcom — the original ABC season actually had so much more flavor. Out of curiosity I asked Gemini Omni to pull up scene comparisons between the ABC and NBC versions and it surfaced details I’d totally forgotten. I completely forgot about the first season. The second season on NBC, I watched a little bit of, but it was on a time that wasn’t convenient for me to catch. The bit I did watch made me appreciate Engvall as a performer.

He got the last laugh he took the sitcom money and immediately moved back to GA. his show wasnt that bad and somehow found life in repeats on cable. his next show blue collar was better. then found a hit in 5th grader
