Picket Fences is currently streaming all four seasons on Hulu. I just binged the entire thing However, Hulu has been known to shelve things without warning.

Thanks, Brian! You’d have to be pretty weird to be that confused about that to the point of commenting on an article about it like that other person did, but that mistake is definitely worth fixing. I’ll do that right now.

In the paragraph talking about the final scene, the character is mistakenly called “Michael” (“Michael Brock was nowhere to be found”), so maybe that’s what they’re referring to?

Season 1 of Picket Fences and The Practice (both David E Kelley) were released on DVD by Fox video (if I remember correctly).

So many great shows from that era are either difficult to find or never released on disc or streaming.

It’s weird how this show has just fallen down the cultural memory hole. It’s not rerun anywhere AFAIK, and I’m not even sure if it’s on DVD or BluRay. Maybe because it was SUCH a topical “issue of the day” show it just didn’t age well?

Warner Bros. tends to be weird with its shows. Basically, unless you pay them a lot of money, they won’t stream their shows, and unless they’re big sellers, they won’t collect their shows onto DVDs. Essentially, their attitude is, “If you want these shows, then pay us to syndicate them to you.” Murphy Brown is a good example of a Warner Bros. show like that. It’s still big on syndication because Warners won’t release a DVD and it won’t let it stream.

Did they have any explanation for Michael Brock’s absence in the finale, or did it just go unaddressed?
