I had no clue this show actually had a second season, let alone four. Never watched a second of it as the commercials were completely unbearable, making watching a whole episode unthinkable. Ditto Abbot Elementary.

I think it’s fair to say that sitcoms often have to do the whole “illusion of change” thing, but it should always be done with SOME forward movement, whether in plot or in character. Like Michael Scott opening the Michael Scott Paper Company on The Office, that technically was an illusion of change situation, but it resulted in Ryan returning to Dunder-Mifflen and Pam becoming a salesperson, so it DID have an impact in the end. This just didn’t do ANYthing. It’s very disappointing.
