Solution two: could be any number of schemes and scams to cover it up. Do we really believe that after all we saw that Magnum was capable of, that he isn’t capable of makign this go away, or of avoiding any investigation into it?

And finally, what if there is no solution? Picture a staff meeting, a writer says “what do we do about this after to show how he got away with it?” and a producer replies “what if we do nothing?” – Here we are 40 years later, and people who love the show are still talking about it. Seems like it was a good call.

And then I moved on. It doesn’t matter what they did with Ivan’s body or the driver. It’s a TV show–and especially a TV show from an era that always played fast and loose with realism and continuity. I just enjoyed it for what it what was–a shocking and powerful scene that had a main character do something they just didn’t do back then.

Not a loose end. The storyline is so big and important.
