It&#039;s crazy that Sondheim didn&#039;t think the song fit at first! It&#039;s probably the third best song in an outstanding musical and it took 25 years to get in there!]]></description>

Including &quot;Marry Me a Little&quot; as the Act I finale gives him some much needed depth and shows he does have an arc--from someone with ambiguous feelings about marriage to someone who sort of wants to get married as long as he doesn&#039;t have to give up much to someone who knows that&#039;s impossible but marriage, for all its problems, is better than being alone. Having &quot;Marry Me a Little&quot; at the midpoint grounds his arc.]]></description>
