Today, we look at how even Archie Comics is in on the Taylor Swift/Travis Kelce romance.
This is Archie Sundays. Every week, I share a preview of the newest Archie Comics releases that week, plus occasional spotlights on the latest Archie news and whatever else I feel like discussing, Archie-wise.
This time around, we’re previewing two comics this week, including Archie’s annual Valentines Spectacular. As I wrote about at CBR, this introduces three new spirits of Valentine’s Day in a story by Ian Flynn, Holly G!, Jim Amash, Glenn Whitmore and Jack Morelli…

WORLD OF ARCHIE DIGEST #137
TWO BRAND NEW STORIES! First, On the most horrible holiday of all—Valentine’s Day—Jughead teeters on the edge of starvation at a Pop’s overrun with monsters! Then, Dr. Masters is in town, and word in the tabloids is that he’s dating a mystery celebrity! Can Archie and his friends figure out who it is?
Script: Tom DeFalco, Dan Parent
Art: Steven Butler, Dan Parent, Lily Butler, Bob Smith
Colors: Glenn Whitmore
Letters: Jack Morelli
Cover: Bill Golliher, Dan Parent, Rosario “Tito” Peña
On Sale Date: 2/7
192-page, full color digest
$9.99 U.S.
In the opening story, by Dan Parent (writer/artist), Bob Smith (inker), Glenn Whitmore (colorist) and Jack Morelli (letterer), Archie and the gang try to figure out who Young Doctor Masters is dating, and one of the possibilities is essentially Taylor Swift, but nope, she is dating basically Travis Kelce!
The other brand-new story is a really clever tale by Tom DeFalco, Steven Butler (inked by his daughter, Lily), Glenn Whitmore and Jack Morelli, where Jughead is “haunted” by the “demons” of Pop’s Chock’lit Shoppe, which, of course, are not actually demons, but metaphorical ones…
Fun stuff.
