
Today, I explain my beef with Wordle using IDLER as an answer.

The Wordle answer for April 30th was “IDLER.”

As you can see, for the most part, any time they’ve gone with an ER ending word, it was a word that was notable on its own, not as “person who does X” addition to the word. POKER is probably MORE well-known as a word than POKE. And words like TIGER AND UNDER and CHEER are just normal words ending with ER.
The problem is when you add ER to a word to make a NON-notable word. IDLE is a common word, IDLER is not.
I think, of the above words, the only one as bad is CORER, and I think IDLER is even worse than CORER.
Not a big deal, of course, but it irked me.
