Today, we look at when (or if) you folks believe that True Blod “jumped the shark.”
This is “Just Can’t Jump It,” a feature where we examine shows that launched in 2006 or later and whether they “jumped the shark.” Jumped the shark means that the show had a specific point in time where, in retrospect, you realize that show was going downhill from there. Not every show DOES jump the shark. Some shows just remain good all the way through. And some shows are terrible all the way through. What we’re looking for are moments where a show that you otherwise enjoyed hit a point where it took a noticeable nose dive after that time and if so, what moment was that?
True Blood was a hit vampire drama series on HBO that was based on a series of successful books called The Southern Vampire Mysteries by Charlene Harris starring the main character, Sookie Stackhouse, who falls in love with a vampire in Louisiana.
So first…DID IT JUMP THE SHARK? I think so, yes.
WHEN DID IT JUMP THE SHARK This is one of those deals where the show kept getting worse and worse, so it’s weird to pick a moment where the show wasn’t nearly as bad as it would get, but I think the moment Sookie learned she was a faerie was the shark jumping moment. It’s not even that Sookie learning she’s a faerie is all that crazy in this world of vampires and werewolves, it was just that it was handled SO poorly in the middle of a season where the show was going off the rails.

The moment True Blood jumped: I stopped watching. The moment TRUE BLOOD jumped the shark was when Bill was having rough sex with the female vamp who created him. (Season 3?)
They were angrily chatting and she said something that angered him.
Then he broke her neck — spinning her head around.
Of course this did not hurt her, nor did he miss a stroke in his sex act.
But when that happened, I said to my (now late) wife. That’s it. I can’t watch this anymore. That was damn stupid.
When the goofy “hate group,” came into the mix. It was a weird, very forced, effort to make a statement about conservative/patriotic people and how they are synonymous with “white supremacy.” Every effort was made to include every image possible including the American flag as a very clear hate symbol.
It’s almost like it wasn’t the show anymore, it’s like it became a weird anti patriotic American/conservative propaganda piece. It was further brought off the rails by a black guy being in the “hate group,” ok so now what do all of these evil people have in common? In the show it appeared to be a fondness for the American flag, a hatred for vampires or anyone “different” (which is everyone,an understanding of the freedom that being armed brings and, of course, THE EVIL THAT IS PICK-UP TRUCKS.
Note: I’m a “Proud Boy,” this includes all the cliches you see on TV. We are a “hate group,” IF you are including hatred for: Left wing EXTREMISM, Liberalism (not most Liberals themselves, just the ideals. We hate people who burn down are cities and the people and ideals behind the people/corporations who literally bail them out to continue the destruction.
If you have these ideals, please speak up if you disagree. By the way: We aren’t racist, we have many “minorities” amount us. So if hating someone based on their race/skin tone/physical features is still what qualifies a group as “racist” then I don’t even know a racist person. Racist people say and do racist things that make them clearly identifiable. Everybody hates racist, to label a group as “racist,“ is a popular tactic used by Leftists, it’s very destructive as well as completely lame.
Here is some good advice, if you want to know for a fact which groups/people are racist, make a firm effort to check for then saying/doing racist things, fair?
