Today, we look to see where the top horror film franchises are streaming this Halloween.
Knowledge Waits is a feature where I just share some bit of pop culture history that interests me that doesn’t quite fit into the other features.
As it is now Halloween, you might want to check out a classic horror film from one of the many popular horror film franchises out there. However, it is sometimes hard to know where each film is currently streaming. So, for Halloween 2021 (I’ll update this next year, as I’m sure things will be different then), here are where each of the films in Cinemablend’s Top Horror Film Franchises (I’m not endorsing said list, I just needed something to narrow this down so I wouldn’t have to do a lot more extra work, so I’m using their top ten. Obviously that means a lot of films are missing, but a LOT of films are covered).
I’ll go in alphabetical order…
THE CONJURING
The original The Conjuring, as well as its two sequels, The Conjuring 2 and The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It are all streaming on HBO Max. However, the first two films in the series are also currently streaming on Netflix (I imagine that deal will not be renewed whenever it expires).
THE EVIL DEAD
The original The Evil Dead, as well as Evil Dead 2 and Army of Darkness are all on HBO Max.
The rebooted version of Evil Dead is on Starz.
THE EXORCIST
The original The Exorcist is streaming only on AMC+ and Philo.
The Exorcist 2: The Heretic is streaming only on HBO Max.
The Exorcist III is streaming on Netflix, IMDB TV, Pluto TV, Tubi TV, Peacock and Crackle.
Exorcist: The Beginning is streaming on Amazon Prime, Hulu and Tubi TV.
Dominion: Prequel to the Exorcist is streaming only on Tubi TV.
FRIDAY THE 13TH
The original Friday the 13th and the first sequel, Friday the 13th – Part II, are streaming on Peacock and the related NBC apps (E! Now, USA Now and NBC’s own app).
Friday the 13th – Part III and Friday the 13th Part – IV: The Final Chapter are streaming on Hulu, Paramount+ and EPIX.
Friday the 13th Part V: A New Beginning, Friday the 13th, Part VI: Jason Lives, Friday the 13th Part VII: The New Blood and Friday the 13th, Part VIII – Manhattan are streaming on Peacock and the related NBC apps (E! Now, USA Now and NBC’s own app).
Jason Goes to Hell: The Final Friday is streaming on Cinemax.
Jason X is streaming on on Peacock and the related NBC apps (E! Now, USA Now and NBC’s own app).
Freddy vs. Jason is streaming on Peacock and HBO Max.
The 2009 reboot of Friday the 13th is streaming only on HBO Max.
HALLOWEEN
The original Halloween is streaming on AMC+, the Roku Channel, Shudder and Philo.
Halloween II and Halloween III: Season of the Witch are streaming on AMC+ and Philo.
Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers and Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers are streaming on AMC+, Shudder and Philo.
Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers is streaming on SHOWTIME.
Halloween H20 and Halloween: Resurrection are streaming on AMC+ and Philo.
The two Rob Zombie reboots, Halloween and Halloween II are also streaming on AMC+ and Philo.

Halloween Kills is streaming only on Peacock.

Insidious is streaming on TBS, TNT and TruTV.
