It’s TV Bingo time! Here is the bingo card for TV sitcoms from the 1960s-1990s.
You can use it on your own, but in the future, I’ll pick a show and go through their episodes in order and see how quickly I can make a bingo!
While TV dramas of the 1960s are very different from TV dramas of the 1970s, I think TV sitcoms of the 1960s are very similar, so I am willing to extend this bingo to the 1960s. I went over the list with Bill Walko and he suggested about a third of the choices (and since I came up with the first draft of the list, I’m sure he would have had much more of them had he done the first draft instead).
A lot of these cliches still exist on modern TV shows, but they’re definitely a lot less present (people don’t get trapped in vaults and elevators and freezers anymore. They’re totally missing out!).
Feel free to e-mail me at brian@popculturereferences.com with suggestions as to which series you’d like me to try to get a bingo on! I thiiiiiiiink I’ll start with All in the Family.
